Fixing the dragon

As you have read in my last journal posting the GreenMobile (Toyota Celica’s are commonly referred to as dragon’s as the emblem is actually of a dragon boat) is alive! But barely, cos it always refuses to start after shutting down the engine. As the spark plug was hot n ‘wet’. It was a common sight of me and my car at a car park swapping out the spark plugs.

So after it got more and more frustrating I brought the car to my friend’s workshop. To help me find out what was the problem.

Sofortbild - Mac Tethered Shooting

I know of a few software on the PC side of the world that allows tethered shooting solutions, and most of them are not free! Software being free is important for me, I’m just a hobbyist. I played around Camera Control Pro for 30 days and thats it.

I have been searching high and low for a cost effective solution when I found Sofortbild.

It seems to connect (to the d300) faster on OSX 10.5 on my iMac compared to my MacBookPro which was running 10.6. I wonder if its really the software difference or just my mind playing tricks on me. I have not had my morning tea!

Testing =D (mutiple shots not live view!)

Joe's Workshop (cont.)

Updated on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 3:50PM by Registered CommenterGerald

The workshop was organised by wedshooter.tv. A site created by Louis Pang. The workshop kicked off at about 830 Louis introduced the program a bit and then introduced Joe McNally. Then we (the ‘students’ of light) introduced ourselves. It was kinda strange for me as everyone had a purpose and know what they want to learn from Joe. Me, I said that I was there to have some fun. Hmmm.. actually I was there to see how he worked. Which I did. And it was a lot of work! He is a perfectionist sort off… and has heaps of experience to throw at the problem and is really really good at what he does. For those who didn’t know, Joe is a lighting guru. He has a knack of making the photos look so natural that you cannot tell that it was created by artificial light. And most of the time accomplished by the small lights, speedlites. Who also won many awards and accolades over his 30 years of experience in photography. And recently voted as one of the top 30 most influential photographers of the decade.

And he has got a lot of gear… I only shot a few pics of the gears n stuff~
