Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 12:38PM This post are for those mac users out there who uses Nokia symbian smart phones. Well I know a few amongst my friends. If anyone ever explored their fones enough they would know that the software that comes with the phones PC-SUITE, as the name implies does all kinds of neat things like back up phone data, duplicate phone book, sync with MS Outlook, update phone software, install new applications and much more.
For us Mac users, we don't have much choice. When we connect our phones to the mac, all we get is i-Sync and all I can do is back up and sync addresses & calenders. Nothing major.
Yup~ simple and clean.
Nothing fancy here.
Friday, November 14, 2008 at 8:22PM So I was in Miri for work, and I took the chance to meet up with some of the local (Miri) photographers whom I got to know in some local photography forums, but mainly we came together under www.photoborneo.com forum's gathering.
Irene wanted a gathering to meet the other photographers, and asked me to post a thread, being an obliging person and the fact that I have nothing better to do I started a thread and a few days later we had 11 people signed up and ready to go and have a cuppa at Citrus.
The gathering started about 7.30 pm or so, me, as usual, arrived late. Sorry Irene, kept u waiting. So when we arrived, four guys were there already. Terrick, Joel, Lionel, and Karlina. Then came Malcomn, Brian, and Kingston(whats the real name? I never caught it). Things were kind of awkward at first. As the table was quite long, so we had to well speak to those who are close to us, and besides we were all having our dinner.
After we have had our share of food and people were starting to take out their gear, then things started to heat up. Suddenly we were all like old pals. Who have not met for ages. I guess its true when they say birds of the same feather flock together?
Even those who are having gathering in Kuching also signed on to SKYPE to 'meet' us.

Monday, November 10, 2008 at 8:59PM Its been a long while since I shot sunsets, properly with tripod's and all the goodness.
At the beginning of November, I was bored on a saturday afternoon, I had my camera equipment with me and I was looking for something to shoot. by 3pm I still had not figure out what to shoot, but I noticed that the skies were quiet nice and clear. Maybe there is a chance for a sunset shoot.
So I called up Ming, Stephen, and Allen. Asked if anyone wanted to join me to find sunset. Stephen was up for it. Ming was unsure, cos when I called him he was having his afternoon nap. Allan had no transportation as his mom was using his car.
This was one of the first shots which I took when I reached just after Ming arrived. He was the 2nd last to confirm but the first to arrive. Then came Stephen (who got lost and went to the other side of the barrage). I guess its quite confusing over there without road signs and such. Last but not least came Allen. Who got his ride back at the last minute.
Heh~ if you have not figured it out, the silhoute is of Ming! with his few month old baby. Which incidently he forgot to charge the battery, and halfway shooting a frame he ran out of juice, and the shutter was open! haha! Lucky for him, Allen, borrowed him a battery so he could close the shutter.
Stephen came with his brand spanking new Cokin GND filters. I had a play at it. it was really good I must say. Especially when doing longer exposures.
Note to self, I must get me one of those as well!

I'm bloggin in from Miri Starbucks. Waiting for my flight at 5pm so I thought I would login and post something funny about my hotel. As I forgot to make my hotel booking, so I ended up at a place called COSY HOTEL. Hmm.. all those from Miri who heard that I was staying at that hotel would say, becareful of people knocking on your door after 12 midnight. They will be looking to give you extra service. -___-" okay... well no one came knocking on my door except some naughty kids running about at the hallway...
on Friday morning, at about 8am, some rooms nearby started renovation. It was loud and annoying. bang! bang! bang! bang! sigh,
then this morning about 7plus am, I heard meow` meow` meow`. I was thinking wat the hell, it cant be a cat in the hotel right? that would be, so wrong. So unheard of!
So I proceeded to go shower and get ready for the morning's activity.
Monday, November 3, 2008 at 7:19PM Two Saturdays ago, I received a call from Pazuzu, he said that there will be a dance competition event at The Spring. I didn't know much and I didn't have much to do so I went for the event. Actually prior to that Saturday we, about 10 photographers gathered at Kluang Station, to try and snap the event. But the it was postponed to Saturday. Then on Saturday, not knowing when exactly is the time of the event, me and Steven arrived at 4pm and we sat around till it was 6.00pm, when the event started. Silly us. Pazuzu joined us at 4.30pm, and then Steven decided to go home to take a shower. So there was only myself and Pazuzu shooting the event. The funny thing was his Canon 50D ran out of power, as we were playing with it for the whole afternoon. And he only had one battery!!! I don't know why, but it was bloody hilarious. He was shooting the opening act, then 2-3 frames later he told me he was out of power! hahaha~ poor fellow.
It was a bit low keyed I must say but at least there are events like this rather than no event. Its always a good start to see young people (am I that old already?) showing their skills for the world to see.
Before the event started everyone was shy to approach the stage. They were all standing a good 15 feet away. Even those who were participating in the event.
