Sarawak Rock Party 2009

It has been a long while since I covered an event. I find it very exciting and exhilarating to try and keep up with the happenings of the event.

The event was held at Kenyalang Theater. on the 26th April 2009

Before I go any further I would like to thank Alvin Jong a.k.a. Pazuzu of Pazuzushot.com for getting me the pass for the event. He was also the vocalist of Channel 1.

 I hope I got all the bands correct.

The event started off quite early, around 6.30pm as there was quiet a long list of bands. And I missed the first band as I was busy downstairs having my dinner. :-( There was a boo-boo at the stall, which caused all of us (Michael, Cecilia, and Alex) to be late.

So upon reaching the main entrance. I can hear MonkeyKat singing her lungs out inside. heh~ but there was a congession at the entrance so we had to slowly make our way in. Oh, me and Michael bought the shirts just to support the event.

And last but not least. The video! one of the bands performing. I had like 5 videos and this one was the smallest. 200 over mb. took me ages to upload to youtube.com last nite. And on top of that I had to retry twice. It disconnected when I was reaching about 80% upload. So make sure you take a view of it. Till the end!

Overall the ‘party’ was a lot of fun. We (photographers) had a lot of fun. I know I did. The music was loud, angry and did I say loud? Hehe. The crowd was good. Almost 70% of the hall was filled. When the event was drawing to a close, the crowd really got going. We left at about 11.30pm deaf. Whistles should be banned from these sort of events. Also there is a need for TWO spot lights, as this event had only one, it was always trained on the person speaking/singing. The rest were under stage light, being green, blue, red, orange etc. Hard to shoot. The management/organizers should talk / communicate with the photographers/ bloggers on the limitations and areas of where they can go. My friends were asked nicely to get off stage. Eventho they had the photographers tag.
