Monday, December 1, 2008 at 8:36PM I was in Miri a few weeks back and had the good fortune to meet up with a few photographers in Miri. Also I was lucky enough as Irene arranged for a portrait shooting on Saturday morning.
DaSolve and Irene came by the cat hotel to pick me up. And we drove up to meet the two pretty models Alice and Hui Hui.

When we reached the park the sun was no where to be seen and there was a lot of grey cloud over the park. DaSolve quickly whipped out the reflector and we tried our best to direct the models, turns out me and DaSolve were quite clueless about posing the models, well especially me. The poses in the gallery is all DaSolve's hardwork :D
After about an hour the weather was warming up. So we all decided to take some rest, as everyone was sweating. So Irene suggested that we move to another location. A hotel! sweet, air condition. Only question on our minds was if the management would not allow us to do shoot in their lobby. Anyways we went over and gave it our best effort.

Friday, November 14, 2008 at 8:22PM So I was in Miri for work, and I took the chance to meet up with some of the local (Miri) photographers whom I got to know in some local photography forums, but mainly we came together under www.photoborneo.com forum's gathering.
Irene wanted a gathering to meet the other photographers, and asked me to post a thread, being an obliging person and the fact that I have nothing better to do I started a thread and a few days later we had 11 people signed up and ready to go and have a cuppa at Citrus.
The gathering started about 7.30 pm or so, me, as usual, arrived late. Sorry Irene, kept u waiting. So when we arrived, four guys were there already. Terrick, Joel, Lionel, and Karlina. Then came Malcomn, Brian, and Kingston(whats the real name? I never caught it). Things were kind of awkward at first. As the table was quite long, so we had to well speak to those who are close to us, and besides we were all having our dinner.
After we have had our share of food and people were starting to take out their gear, then things started to heat up. Suddenly we were all like old pals. Who have not met for ages. I guess its true when they say birds of the same feather flock together?
Even those who are having gathering in Kuching also signed on to SKYPE to 'meet' us.

I'm bloggin in from Miri Starbucks. Waiting for my flight at 5pm so I thought I would login and post something funny about my hotel. As I forgot to make my hotel booking, so I ended up at a place called COSY HOTEL. Hmm.. all those from Miri who heard that I was staying at that hotel would say, becareful of people knocking on your door after 12 midnight. They will be looking to give you extra service. -___-" okay... well no one came knocking on my door except some naughty kids running about at the hallway...
on Friday morning, at about 8am, some rooms nearby started renovation. It was loud and annoying. bang! bang! bang! bang! sigh,
then this morning about 7plus am, I heard meow` meow` meow`. I was thinking wat the hell, it cant be a cat in the hotel right? that would be, so wrong. So unheard of!
So I proceeded to go shower and get ready for the morning's activity.

Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 9:10PM So again, Im back from my short trip. This time it was to Bintulu and then Miri. I have not headed out that direction for quite a number of months already.
In any case I reached Bintulu early morning, headed out to work for a while and we had a really nice meal at Spring Garden Cafe. They have really nice Fried Chicken Feet! honestly I seldom eat this specialty dish. But only when I'm in Bintulu I will eat it. Because it is that good. Everyone should have a go at it once in their life time.

The next day after popping by another outlet we headed off to Miri just after lunch hour. Zipped to Miri in about 2 hours time, did 4 interviews in one afternoon. I talked and asked questions as if I had not had a drop of water for many months.
Finally concluded the interviews, quickly rushed up the hotel and took a quick shower. Then went for dinner at Sea Horse with Irene, Peter and some other friends.

Today was a grey day. From morning till evening. Well there was a bit of sun in the afternoon but I didnt bring out my camera. And when I had my camera with me it was grey and raining again! sigh!
So that was yet another quick trip to and back from Miri & Bintulu.
