another slow sunday

Its now 11th of October. Nearly middle of the month already. And I have not updated much in the journal. I did shoot a few portraits and two events. I have not published or post processed the portraits because the rest of the guys are not ready. And we kind of agreed to publish everything together.

Besides that I’m now in Miri. and sitting at Halo Cafe waiting for time to go back to Kuching. I guess everyone is busy, and it was my own fault to buy the tickets before informing my friends of my plans. So they already made their plans and I’m here alone. AHAHA!

Which is good because I can catch up in some facebook gaming. LOL. ever hear of Mafia Wars? Been wanting to play that for a while now. But I guess soon I will have more time to play it. xD

Its a bright and sunny day over here in Miri. I’m enjoying my pot of lavender tea. Playing facebook games and chatting with friends. Its warm and I’m listening to great music. This is very very relaxing and enjoyable. Only thing that kind of annoys me is that I have forgotten to bring my mouse along. So I been moving the cursor about with my fingers for the past 3 hours. Its becoming a bit tiring to say the least. Well 1 more hour to go before I go to the airport and wait another hour.. take a 1 hour plus flight back to Kuching. All in all another 4 hours to kill. Lucky for me I got my pink PSP with me. AHAHA!

Now all that I’m missing is my mouse!

Penang 2009

My personal trip to Penang was two years ago. Last year I did go I think once or twice for training. That did not leave me much time to go around. So this trip I took some leaves and coincide it with the Gawai public holidays. This trip was my longest trip. I flew to Penang on 28th May 2009. Arrived at 30 mins to midnight. Waited at the airport for Ken to pick me up. I was crashing at his house for the duration of the trip. Anyways instead of heading to his house, we headed to Queensbay Mall for the midnight screening of the Terminator: Salvation. It was an OKAY movie for me. The effects were superb, the story line was acceptable. But somehow, I was hoping for more. I’m a huge fan of the Terminator series. From T1 to the TV series. Oh well. At least its better than the previous installment.

So actually my trip started on 29th May 2009 (Friday). Ken had to work, So I followed him around for a bit then he left me to go find my way around Georgetown. It was 11 am and the sun was scorching. I decided to do what tourist in Penang do, take a trishaw ride. Yup. It was RM 20 per hour. I was thinking sure, I’ll visit all the temples and stuff, jump off, take a few snaps and move to the next interesting place. At the end of it, it was about three hours and a half. RM 70! But I did see a lot of charming Georgetown. Only thing was it was really scary on the trishaw, as some places were really tight, and we had to maneuver all over.

and the next day

Warning: Yet another image intensive post.

Well woke up bright and early the next day. Had a conference call with HQ in my budget hotel room. Checked out and waited at the lobby for about 30 mins or so for Yue Ee to arrive. The plan was to go to Singapore again! This time round with Regina. Another colleague from JB.

First meal of the day.

Stickers

These guys were sticking their “Call for personal loan” stickers everywhere! The BERHENTI sign, the road sign, the pole. Everything and anything. I was surprise that they didn’t stick it to themselves! And they have good budget too (for sure this sort of business). Oh well… if you want to borrow some money, go look at the public property, chances are you can find some “useful” numbers there.

The previous day it was only myself, Yue Ee, and Aslina. The second day, Regina also took leave like the rest of us, to go down to Singapore. And she even offered to drive us down. Thanks Regina. Much appreciated!
